‘Caring for children is a well-established approach in the UAE,’ says Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed

 

Abu Dhabi, March 14 2022: His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA), said the UAE is paying particular attention to the early childhood development sector in line with its well-established approach.

 

On the Emirati Children’s Day, which falls on March 15 of each year, Sheikh Theyab affirmed the importance of collaboration and integration of various sectors, to ensure children are living in a secure environment that supports their right to develop and learn.

 

“On this occasion, we affirm our commitment to safeguarding children’s rights. It is an opportunity to highlight our most prominent programs and initiatives, through which we seek to achieve the best social, emotional and educational outcomes for children,” Sheikh Theyab stated.

 

Sheikh Theyab praised efforts made by the country’s various entities to promote the objectives of Abu Dhabi’s Early Childhood Development Strategy for 2035. Led by the ECA, the strategy aims to ensure children, parents, and caregivers have access to appropriate services to support optimal child development. It also aims to create a robust ecosystem to promote accountability and continuous quality improvement.

 

He welcomed hosting the 1st global WED Forum in Abu Dhabi, as part of the WED Movement, in conjunction with the Emirati Children’s Day.

 

In addition to its importance for all children, Sheikh Theyab said that WED Forum will inspire stakeholders around the world to play an active role in advancing this vital sector. He further noted the forum supports the country’s efforts to create the best opportunities for future generations to develop and thrive, as well as empowering them to actively contribute to their nation’s progress in the future.
