Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training partners with Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority

Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) and the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority have partnered to issue a commercial licence to centres and institutes establishing early childhood training activities in Abu Dhabi. The initiative supports the emirate’s ongoing efforts to advance training programmes and cultivate skilled professionals, while fostering academic excellence from an early age.

ACTVET is committed to establishing policies and standards that effectively regulate technical and vocational educational institutions in Abu Dhabi. Additionally, it is responsible for granting commercial licenses to training centres and tutors in various disciplines within the emirate.

Ali Mohammed Al Marzouqi, President EmiratesSkills at the ACTVET, said: “This initiative aligns with ACTVET’s strategy to partner with relevant authorities to achieve the directives of the wise leadership in fostering national competencies across all disciplines from an early age. This is critical in cultivating a national workforce inclined towards innovation and creativity in all fields.”

Al Marzouqi explained that the Licencing and Accreditation Department at ACTVET oversees the evaluation of training centres and institutes, as well as assesses their adherence to licencing and accreditation standards on a regular basis, ensuring alignment with the UAE’s objectives and future aspirations across all sectors and training specialisations.

Thamer Al Qasimi, Executive Director of the Private Projects and Partnerships Sector at the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, said: “High quality care and education provided at an early age helps young children in developing their linguistic, social, physical and cultural competencies, preparing them for the ever-changing work environment and future challenges. This necessitates the presence of qualified caregivers.

“Through our partnership with ACTVET, the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority aims to advance training and professional development programmes in Abu Dhabi. The goal is to enhance the efficiency of programmes and cultivate skilled professionals working in the Early Childhood Development sector by strategically investing in human capital, ultimately improving the standard and quality of services provided.”

Al Qasimi highlighted the authority’s commitment to applying the licensing and accreditation criteria established by the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training during the certification process. Additionally, the authority will assess the appropriateness of programme content for local culture and needs, evaluate trainer qualifications and competencies, and gauge the effectiveness of the programmes in attaining optimal results.
